Getting Started

I’m having difficulties setting up my fundraising page. Where can I get help?

Is eSight considered a 501(c)(3) registered charity?
No, eSight is not considered a 501(c)(3) registered charity. However, we do have a charitable arm called the Overcome Vision Loss Foundation.

Are contributions tax deductible?
No. Since eSight is not considered a 501(c)(3) registered charity, contributions are not tax deductible. However, we do have a charitable arm called the Overcome Vision Loss Foundation that may be able to provide tax receipts for contributions of $500 USD or more.

Is eSight covered by insurance?
As a new technology, eSight faces an uphill battle in being covered by insurance. A significant number of users have independently advocated to their insurance or benefits provider and successfully had their devices covered.

Throughout Your Journey

I’ve successfully set up my fundraising page, but have yet to receive any contributions. How can I spread the word about my campaign?
Upon creating your fundraising campaign, be sure to ask yourself the following questions:

How can people contribute to my campaign?
By creating a campaign on eSight’s fundraising website (www.giving.esighteyewear.com), friends and family will be able to contribute directly online using a credit card or Visa debit card.

Alternatively, you can also contribute by sending us a cheque or calling 1-855-837-4448 ext. 8.

Where should someone send a cheque contribution?
Please send all cheque contributions to our Toronto Office (mailing address below). Be sure to make all cheques out to eSight Corporation and include the fundraiser’s full name in the memo.

How do I get in contact with my local Lions Club and other service clubs?
When reaching out to any of your local service clubs, be sure to ask yourself the following questions:

Someone would like to learn more about eSight before contributing to my campaign. Where should I direct them?
If someone would like to learn more about eSight, please refer them to our website (www.esighteyewear.com) or send them documents from our Additional Resources page.

If someone would like to speak directly with an eSight team member before contributing to your campaign, please have them give us a call at 1-855-837-4448 ext. 8.

Someone would like a document confirming their contribution to my campaign for their records. Where should I direct them?
If someone would like a document confirming their contribution to your campaign, please provide us with their name, email address, and contribution amount in an email to empower@eSightEyewear.com. We will send them their confirmation shortly.

Congratulations on reaching your fundraising goal! To place your eSight order, please call us directly at 1-855-837-4448 ext. 8 and we will happily walk you through the next steps.

What happens if I raise more money than my fundraising goal?
In the event you raise more money than required to purchase your own eSight, all extra funds will be pooled together and paid forward to another fundraiser in need. These funds will go directly to another individual’s eSight campaign and will be distributed at the discretion of our eMPOWER Team.

How do I shut down my campaign?
If you would like to shut down your fundraising campaign, please let us in an email to empower@eSightEyewear.com. One of our team members will be in touch with you shortly.
