eSight Go Software Version 5.1 Release Notes

eSight Go Change Log
February 03, 2025

With the Version 5.1 update, our eSight Go software became significantly more powerful. Here are the changes made as part of the upgrade.

Streamlined navigation within specific menus

Added the ability to stay within specific menus when navigating versus needing to scroll back through the main menu to ensure menus opened at the expected location.

Manual brightness options can be selected as desired

To prevent the manual brightness menu from automatically selecting a brightness level, the full menu was updated at once so the user can choose their desired brightness level as appropriate.

The menu loading spinner syncs with the set menu

When previewing application settings, the loading spinner theme now syncs with the set menu theme.

Regulatory image is found immediately

The “not found” text has been removed by default to allow the system to load the relevant regulatory information.

Consistent narration provided during menu navigation

The page trigger has been updated so narration appears consistently during navigation.

WiFi status is dynamically updated on the menu homepage

The root menu now includes new WiFi system status listeners, allowing for dynamic updates.

Removed Bluetooth options to connect/disconnect from BLE devices

The option to connect/disconnect a BLE device (e.g. mobile phone) was removed from the eSight Bluetooth menu since the eSight device does not pair with BLE devices.

“Payment Due – Contact Support” is translated in the correct language

The device remote lockout page displays the message that a payment is due in the same language as selected in the device set up.

WiFi Connection status appears after a network connection is successful

The timing of when a successful WiFi connection message appears has been updated so it is displayed after a successful connection.

Updated the application timeout trigger to prevent application crash

The application connection timeout trigger was updated to halt after a connection is terminated early, preventing the application from crashing.

Update Service message is cleared upon wake up of the device when in Low Power Mode

An error message displays upon device wake up that clears the Update Service status if a network action is interrupted due to Low Power Mode.

Feature added – Smooth Zoom

We improved the user experience by making zoom transitions smoother and more gradual.

Enhancement of UI timeout

Certain UI elements have added timeouts to help prevent burn-in.

Removed unused Bluetooth device context action

We eliminated the “connect” option from the context menu for Bluetooth devices as this feature is not available.

Updated Regulatory section

The “Contains”, “FCC ID”, and “ISED” screens have been removed from the menu and is now available in the Regulatory sub-menu.

Feature added – Virtual Remote

The virtual remote in the mobile companion app replicates the functionality of the hand-held remote. Bluetooth connection is created via a secure user prompt and uses the standard Bluetooth operation that was already in use in previous versions.

Input commands are cleared when an eSight remote device is disconnected

All input commands, including virtual remote and eShare, are cleared following the disconnection of the remote device.

Network status message updated to reflect current access to selected platform

The timing of the network status message has been updated to display after status of access to the network has been determined.

Dialog is narrated when connecting a mobile phone

Narration has been added to the dialog when connecting or disconnecting a mobile phone.

The eSight device displays the eRemote option after a remote is connected

The BLE remote was updated to continue to display the eRemote as an option.

Freeze Zoom resets to the correct zoom level

The Freeze Zoom index resets to the correct level.

Added multipart Over-The-Air (OTA) software download feature

Introduced a mechanism to download OTA files in segments, allowing for quick pause and resume downloads with minimum data loss.

Removed OTA download error message during rebooting

Multipart OTA allows for recovering and resuming updates during rebooting, so this message was removed.
